Water resources development engineering in Tehran Berkeley Group of Companies is divided into two main departments:

A-     Dam and Water Transport Department

B-     Environmental and Water Irrigation Department

Tehran Berkeley Group of Companies’ Dam and Water Transport Department with almost 40 years experience in the engineering services in Iran, Water and Power industries and performing over 40 years in different related industries, has Grade “1” in Water Resources and Dam Consultant (Highest Grade in Iran).

In 1976, the Tehran Berkeley Group of Companies was awarded its first water resources engineering project for Sistan and Baluchestan Province. Ever since, owing to the importance placed on the issue of control and optimum usage of surface and sub-surface water resources of the country, TB have participated and actively taken part in projects, including construction of dams, irrigation and drainage, water supply and distribution networks and their feasibility studies.

So far, the study, design and supervision of 18 projects have been entrusted to the Tehran Berkeley Co. by the Regional Water Organizations of Tehran, Khuzestan, Esfahan, Central Province, Khorasan and Mazandaran. The Tehran Berkeley has gone through with all the stages of investigation about the matter, including the basic studies (meteorological, hydrological, geological and earthquake engineering, social, economic and environmental inquiries), the identification and localization of water resources, the optimization of their usage and consumption, the management of water resources as well as the design of the civil works, hydromechanical and geotechnical structures, irrigation and drainage networks. In this regard, the Tehran Berkeley has been in close and continuous contact with the highly validated Iranian and foreign consultants and research centers.

Tehran Berkeley has managed to enhance its mass of knowledges and extend its software resources by participating in the large national projects having special technical complexities, and by benefiting from the expertise, technical know-how and practical experiences of international experts with whom we collaborate.

To expand the scope of its activities in these areas, Tehran Berkeley has participated in the international tenders such as:

  1. Dushanbe City Water Supply project management (Asia)
  2. Surinam Jetty (South America)
  3. Qazi Barotta project in Pakistan.

Artificial irrigation in arid and semi-arid zones is the basic and most important practice in agriculture. In the arid countries, irrigation development begins with dam making, is completed with the irrigation system development, and ends with the drainage systems. So the main departments of Tehran Berkeley Group of Companies in cooperation with its other departments and partner companies have been very active in this area; and there are many projects done by this group in related to the above mentioned fields in all over the Iran, more than 20000 hectares irrigation networks as well as 6000 hectares under pressure and localized systems (design, supervision and investigation). In drainage field activities, Tehran Berkeley has very wide experiences in the investigation of 15000 hectares and the desi
